In Spanish, there are many words that contain the vowels A, E, I and O before the consonant D, but only a few with the U. For example: adhurt, edion, goentify, odontologist, Youohm.
Although there are not many words that contain a vowel followed by the D in the same syllable (for example: ad- look), there are several that contain these sequences but in different syllables (for example: e - dad).
