Either is an adverb with which one thing is denied after having denied another (There is no sun, but either Rains). As little is the adverb "so" followed by the term "little" (ate as little that he is hungry again).
The sequences “neither” and “so little” sound practically the same, but their meaning is different and they are written differently. That is why in orality, when hearing any of these forms, confusion can be generated.
