There are not many words in Spanish that begin with K. This is why many of the words we use today are foreigners, that is, words that come from other languages and that we adapt to ours. For example: kimono, kweapon.
In addition, the prefix kilo- means "thousand", and is used in many units of measurement. For example: killometer, kilogram, kilovolt.
