Simple and compound sentences
The prayers they are the smallest syntactic units used in a language. Every sentence must always begin with a letter capital letter and end with a point.
Each sentence consists of two central parts: a subject (who performs the action) and a predicate (the action).
There are many ways to classify sentences. According to the number of propositions or suborations (each with its subject and predicate) they are distinguished between simple (they have a single predicate and therefore a single subject) or compound (They have more than one predicate and, therefore, more than one subject).
Simple sentences
A sentence is simple when all the verbs in the sentence (be it one or more) refer to the same subject. For example: Juan runs a lot. /Juan and Martín run a lot. / Juan runs and jumps.
To define if a sentence is simple, we can ask ourselves the following questions:
Who is doing the action? This is the question that must be asked to recognize the subject (noun) of the sentence.
What is (or does) the subject? By answering this question we will be able to recognize the action, that is, the verb of the sentence and thus identify the predicate.
For example: Maria went to my house.
Who went to my house? Mary (subject)
What did Maria do? She went to my house (predicate)
Simple sentences can have:
Compound sentences

The suborations, also called propositions, have syntactic coherence in themselves: (My friend was late) (her parents got mad).
Each of the two verbs refers to different subjects ("arrived" is the verb that refers to "my friend" and "angry" is the verb that refers to "her parents". To join one proposition with another, you use links or connectors ("And", in this case).
