Exclamation sentences
The exclamation sentences (or exclamatory) are used to express feelings that make the sender react with emphasis, so that these sentences usually stand out above the others. For example:What a great goal! Happy birthday!
The word exclaim means "to convey emotions." These sentences can be easily identified when they are written as they are always accompanied by exclamation or exclamation marks which, in the Spanish language, are placed both at the beginning (!) and at the end of the sentence (!) taking the place of the point. For example: Good to see you! I heard you moved back.
Some exclamatory expressions make up sentences of the type unimembre, which simply mark a sudden reaction or feeling. For example: What a surprise!or Long live the homeland!
It is important to mention that the moment a sentence exposes its exclamatory nature, it loses to a certain extent its vocation to state or describe something, even when it does not stop doing so. For example, if we hear exclaim:
The war is over!We surely perceive that whoever says it is celebrating that fact, and not just communicating it.Exclamatory sentences can express:
The exclamatory sentences are then differentiated from the interrogative sentences, which are the ones used when you want to ask something. These also begin and end with a sign (¿?), Which meets the same conditions as the exclamatory. For example: How do I get to the art museum?
Sometimes, when you want to combine both tones, you can place the two signs in the same sentence. For example: Is the plane just now landing ?!
