The semicolon (;) is a punctuation mark that serves to separate different but associated ideas in the same sentence. It is used to mark a gap greater than that marked by the eat but less than that marked by a point.
Like all punctuation marks, the semicolon is used in the written language to structure sentences, order ideas and rank them, as well as eliminate ambiguities in meaning.
How is this written? Like most punctuation marks, it is written immediately after the previous word, without a blank space, and is separated from the next word by a space. The next word starts with a lowercase letter (except for own names)
How do you read? When reading a semicolon, a pause is paused at a comma but less than a period.
