Sentences with adjectives
A adjective is a word that modifies a noun, expressing its characteristics or properties. Those properties can be concrete (home big, shirt blue), or abstract (trouble complicated, person nice).
In our language, adjectives are usually next to the noun they refer to, most of the time immediately after it. For example: table high / home empty. However, some adjectives can also appear before the noun, mainly the cardinal ones. For example: five chairs; four apples.
Most of the adjectives are modified to achieve agreement in gender and number with the noun. For example: woman high / man high. However, some adjectives remain unchanged in both genders. For example: woman strong /a man strong.
Types of adjectives
Pronominal: They are pronouns that function as adjectives.
Not pronominal: They are adjectives that add information.
