The verbal aspect indicates the internal time of an action. Beyond that if the verb is in the past, present or future, the aspect allows to elucidate if the action has finished or not.
There are two aspects:
is walking | will act | prepare |

is explaining | eat | remains |
is talking | I'll buy | was left |
she is doing | cut | will remain |
is washing | paraded | rumbled |
