How do you say prima in English

    English   /   by admin   /   July 04, 2021

The daughter of the brother or sister of one of our parents, that is, the daughter of our uncles is our cousin. The daughter of a cousin or cousin of our parents is also a cousin.

In English the same word is used to say cousin or cousin: Cousin:

My cousin Susan is daughter of my Uncle Steve.

My cousin Daniel is son of my aunt Rossie.

We also use the word cousin as part of a sentence to indicate the degree of kinship of a cousin.

When our cousin or cousin is the child of the brother or sister of one of our parents, then we speak of a first cousin, close cousin or first cousin:

    Martha is my first cousin.

Pat is first cousin of Robert.

When our cousin or cousin is the child of the cousin or cousin of one of our parents, then it is a second cousin:

Ann is second cousin of Mr. Simpson. She is the daughter of mother’s cousin.

This are Candy and Mandy. They have the same age. Candy is my first cousin, daughter of my aunt Anastasia. Mandy is my second cousin, daughter of my uncle Boris.

When the degree of kinship is much more distant (the cousin of my father's cousin, for example) then we speak of distant cousins:

Brigitte is a distant cousin who born and live in France.

I have many distant cousins that I haven't met until weekend.

Other ways to say cousin in English

There are other less frequently used words, used in family settings or informally to say cousin or cousin.

Kick. This word is a very familiar form, probably derived from the mispronunciation of young children. It is used as a loving way in the family environment:

Dad, when we can go to see my kick Rosie?

My kick Selma said she come on weekend.

Kin. Kin literally means relative, relative, close friend. It is an informal way to refer to a cousin or cousin, indicating her gender:

My kinwoman live with us around two years ago.

Stewart, my kinman, help me to do this garage.

Relative. It has the same meaning and context as kin, that is, relative, familiar. The main difference between the use of Kin and Relative, is that kin refers to relatives with whom you regularly live or coexist daily (physical closeness) as relative refers to people who belong to the same family, but there is no closeness physical.

Cindy Smith is my relative. She is daughter of my aunt Louise, cousin of my Dad. She lives in New Hampshire.

    Sammy is Henry’s relative.
