Spanish Classes / / November 09, 2021
The simple verbal predicate It's that oneverbal predicate which is made up of a single core of the predicate, that is, by a single conjugated verb that agrees in person and number with the subject of the sentence; for instance:
- "We (subject) we consume very few vegetables at home (simple verbal predicate) ”. The predicate is simple because it has only one core: the predicative verb
Remember that the verbal predicate is one that is composed of a predicative verb, which is all that verb that is not copulative (be, be or seem) and that expresses a complete meaning, an action or a process, for example eat, have fun, travel, analyze, turn on, etc.
The structure of the simple verbal predicate is as follows:
Subject + verbal predicate (1 predicative verb+ accessories: c. direct, c. indirect, c. circumstantial)
- My friends (subject) they play (core of the predicate) to the ball (complement).
On the other hand, the compound verbal predicate is one that has more than one nucleus; that is, within the predicate there will be two or more conjugated predicative verbs that match the subject. For example: "My friends
they kick and throw the ball”- Continue with: Compound verbal predicate
