Argumentative Paragraphs
The argumentative paragraphs are those that are used to demonstrate or justify the opinion of an author. These paragraphs usually include arguments, quotes, descriptions of theories, among others, and are written in order to express a point of view and to persuade the reader.
A paragraph is a unit of a text that is made up of one or more sentences, beginning with a capital letter and ending with a new paragraph. The texts are organized in such a way that each paragraph deals with a central idea. Generally, the first sentence of each paragraph tends to make explicit what the main point to be developed is.
In the case of argumentative paragraphs, each paragraph usually includes an argument that justifies the central idea of the text. These paragraphs have to be convincing and coherent and do not have to present contradictions or ambiguities.
The argumentative paragraphs are usually in opinion texts, in persuasive texts, on argumentative essays or in any type of text in which a point of view is justified and in which there is an intention to convince the reader.
