Carbohydrates are the components that are found in greater quantity in nature, since most living beings are plants or animals.
Chemically speaking the General formula for carbohydrates is Cn (H2O) n, which establishes the existence of carbon and water, this having generated the compound word "carbohydrates" which is what distinguishes this type of molecules.
Important aspects and characteristics of carbohydrates:
Division.-Carbohydrates are basically divided into two:
- Aldosa (this is an aldehyde)
- Ketone (this is called ketosis)
Although there are other divisions that are classified by the number of carbon atoms that are present:
- Trioses (three atoms)
- Tetrosses (four atoms)
- Pentrosas (five atoms)
- Hexos (six atoms)
Carbohydrates in nature.-It was nature found in two basic forms, in sugars that are found both in dairy and in some plants and that have a sweet taste starches and that are found in plants.
Energy source.-Carbohydrates are the primary source of energy in nature, all living beings require it and are basically energy reserves independent of others, such as proteins.
Metabolization.-Carbohydrates as a source of energy are essential for all living beings, especially for human beings, they are the natural form of energy reserve for which he fears they can be found in fatty forms as a reserve in living beings and even in some plants that contain fat called vegetables; I have felt stricter and from a vital energy point of view, sugars are the basic food for brain functions and for metabolism in living beings.
Carbohydrates in the human body.- Some carbohydrates are essential for the existence of living beings as mentioned above, but can also cause a series of physical problems of the order metabolic rate in humans and even some animals, and this is because the pancreas cannot adequately metabolize the sugars that the body requires for its functioning. Following this sense, it must be taken into consideration that glucose levels must always be adequate and carbohydrate consumption must to be moderate or regulated, this because they initially produce what is called iper-nsulin, which it produces when the body secretes too much insulin to be able to metabolize these sugars, and later the so-called diabetes that is a disease can occur metabolic. It must be borne in mind that organs such as the brain only feed on carbohydrates, which is why its consumption in an adequate way will always be essential.
Simple carbohydrates.- Simple carbohydrates are those found in sugars, glucose, milk, milk derivatives and fruits.
Complex carbohydrates.- Complex carbohydrates are those that are composed of long chains, such as peas, beans and some vegetables; These carbohydrates are slower to absorb than simple carbohydrates.
