A noun is a word by which a subject or object is named. They are words that refer to objects, people, ideas or feelings that exist, in one way or another, in the human communication world. In fact, the fundamental characteristic of nouns is that they are words that refer to fixed entities and not to processes or contextual aspects that, therefore, may vary depending on the situation. We can then say that nouns are all those words with which we designate things we know, whether they are material or not.
In this way, numeral nouns they refer to entities that are fixed in quantity or that can be quantifiable. However, these types of nouns are commonly confused with numeral adjectives, which refer to the variable amount of a thing. While the numeral nouns refer to aspects or fixed numerical notions, regardless of the context in which they are, the numeral adjectives specify the amount of said notions. In this sense, nouns of this type synthesize a number idea while adjectives express the number of units of that idea.
