Example of text in dramatic genre:
Fragment of "The best mayor, the king" by Lope de Vega:
[Scene II]
ELVIRA exits.
ELVIRA
Sancho was coming down here,
or he has mocked my desire.
To the faith that I see there;
that the soul showed me.
The stream looked
where he yesterday he looked at me;
If he thinks that there it was
any shadow of me ?;
that I got angry when I saw
that among the waters he saw me.
What are you looking for crystals
these free streams,
Sancho, may the skies guard,
every time you go out to the field?
Have you found some corals
What in this margin did I lose?
SANCHO
Finding me would like me,
that I lost since yesterday;
but I am coming to see me,
Well, I come to find myself in you.
ELVIRA
I think [to] help me you come
Let's see if I can find them.
SANCHO
It's good to come find
what on your cheeks you have!
Are they ailments or disdain?
Albricias, I already found them!
ELVIRA
Where?
SANCHO
In your mouth, I have,
and with silver estremos.
ELVIRA
Deviate.
SANCHO
Always ungrateful
to the loyalty of my faith!
ELVIRA
Sancho, you are very daring.
Tell me: what else would you do
if by chance you were
on the eve of husband?
SANCHO
That, whose fault was it?
ELVIRA
Yours, to faith.
SANCHO
Mine? Not,
I already told you, and he spoke to you
the soul, and you didn't answer.
ELVIRA
What more answer did you want,
what not to answer you?
SANCHO
We are both blamed.
ELVIRA
Sancho, well you are so sane,
warns that women
we speak when we are silent,
we grant if we deny;
for this, and for what you see,
never give us credit,
neither cruel nor loving,
because all our things
They are to be understood backwards.
SANCHO
According to that, you give license
that I ask Nuño here.
Shut up? Then you say yes.
Enough; I already understand science.
ELVIRA
Yes; but be warned
do not say that I want to.
SANCHO
He comes.
ELVIRA
The event I hope
behind that elm.
SANCHO
Oh my God,
if it brought us both together,
because if not, I will die!
