A assumption turns out to be the consideration of a question or situation as true. “If we don't go to her birthday party, surely, Maria, she will be very angry, we will have to make the effort.”
Facts that are taken for certain based on beliefs, experiences, data, even if they have not been verified
Also, what we assume or take for granted it is an assumption. “I suppose by now the airplane, we must hurry up.”
And at the behest of the logic, an assumption implies the meaning of one word instead of another.
Whenever we suppose something we will be making a guess, that is, forming an opinion based on the facts and observations that we make, or failing that, through comparisons that we make with respect to similar facts or situations that already we have gone through in the past in a timely manner, or also from the management of certain information or data that comes to us about an issue, and that by case allows us to venture on something.
Difference with the hypothesis and salient characteristics
Although with recurrence we speak indistinctly of assumption and of hypothesis, are not the same, far from it, since the hypothesis is the next step that proceeds to the conclusion temporary job, which results especially from the observation and by the experimentation of the case in question.
So, in order to better recognize it, in an assumption, we always come across the following characteristics: the data attributed is real, the data is mentioned as safe, there is no investigation around the data, the consequences result from the data provided and is based solely on speculation and opinions of the actors involved.
The assumption turns out to be an activity that human beings frequently carry out in the infinity of areas in which we intervene; In our personal life, at work, among others, assumptions usually arise in the face of different situations that arise or are expected to happen.
In other words, it is a typically human action, often unavoidable and carried out naturally.
Now, on some occasions intuition, experience, the information, or what we think, fails us and then we can make assumptions that are not produce or are true, and in these cases it is that we can cause the anger of people who are involved.
Precautions when guessing about third parties
You must always be very careful when guessing and more if you are doing it about third parties sensitive, sometimes it is better to wait for things to occur and have their effects, than get ahead of think or do something.
For example, my sister always lends me clothes and so I decide to wear her a dress without consulting her because I suppose it won't bother her, but oops, it does happen, and she gets upset, because that dress I wore was new and there was none released.
What we assume is given as true even when it did not actually happen or there is no evidence.
I can see a friend cry and suppose that she does it because she had a fight with her partner, but until she confirms it to me, no it may be true, because it may be that he cries because he was hit or because he lost his job, among so many possibilities.
In contexts or situations such as those mentioned, the assumption can bring us a problem as we have already pointed out or only make a mistake that does not produces serious consequences, however, there are areas in which assuming has no value in any way and therefore the assumption is non-viable.
Justice, to be more concrete and clear, cannot assume the guilt or innocence of a person under any point of view and that the assumption is the basis of her verdict.
The evidence found and the affirmation of witnesses must be the roots of your decision and not an assumption, we are talking about the Liberty or not of a person and that cannot depend on an assumption.
