In Chemistry, saturation is known as the state of a solution that no longer accepts more of the substance it dissolves.. A solution saturated turns out to be one that contains as large a level of solute as possible in the given solvent volume. The solution will be supersaturated when it contains more solute than can be dissolved in the solvent.
State in which a solution does not admit more quantity of substance inside
It is easy to appreciate the saturation because in the fluid the dissolution of another substance will no longer be possible since everything that it can chemically accept has been added to it. Even more, if we want to corroborate this phenomenon by our own means and we do not have a laboratory we can do it with the typical infusions that we drink daily, such is the case of tea or the coffee. If we add sugar and sugar to them there will come a certain instance in which the sugar will no longer dissolve.
So as long as solute can be added to the solvent the solution will not be saturated, and it is called unsaturated, while it will be saturated when, despite mixing, the solute no longer mixes and is deposited at the bottom of the container.
In the color: degree of purity
On the other hand, when it comes to color issues, saturation turns out to be the measure of the authenticity that has a certain color, that is, its purity. It is represented by the amount of gray in a color with respect to its tone, that is, 0% is equivalent to gray and 100% will be the full saturation.
The resource of saturation is widely used at the request of the design with the mission of achieving greater impact visual, in a Photography for example. There are editing tools that precisely allow you to play with the saturation that colors have. If an original image lacks intensity, it can be raised through these tools and increased. On the other hand, when the saturation is brought to zero values, we will be in the scale grayscale and offering minimal color information in the image. This saturation is usually used when you want to transmit sadness.
Music: distortion in the sound signal
The term saturation also turns out to be very common within the field of music, since in this way and more precisely in the rock scene, the sound in which the distortion of the sound signal becomes clearly audible is called saturation. The aforementioned distortion can range from something quite light to something dense and fuzzy at the same time, causing the tonality to be practically unrecognizable compared to the original signal. Most modern guitar amps have a preamp that is used to generate the aforementioned distortion and at the same time control the volume of the signal exit.
Fed up produced by a situation, task, or person
Meanwhile, in ordinary language, when people want to give an account of the fed up or the boredom that a certain situation or person produces in us we usually speak in terms of saturation.
The constant and almost non-stop performance of an activity is sure to cause saturation; Likewise, those people who, due to certain characteristics of their way of being, turn on certain repetitive topics, are also considered a focus of saturation.
"His constant complaints about him got the saturation of all his office colleagues."
"After almost an uninterrupted month of work I have reached my saturation point with work, I really need a break."
And who suffers from the aforementioned saturation will be called saturated.
An alternative to saturation is to take a break from the activity that has been carried out, either to take a break from work for a few hours to later resume the task more fresh and eager, or failing that, go on vacation in order to achieve greater relaxation and recover from the saturation that sorry.
And if the object of saturation is a person, as we have already seen, the ideal would be to move away from it to avoid saturation leading to some aggression or in a bad reply.
We must say as a corollary that the term is mostly applied to refer to everything that is full, complete.
