The international right private is known as one of the most important branches of the right with regard to issues that confront two or more different national regions. Thus, while international law is one that regulates the relationships, links and exchanges that occur between two or more countries, private international law is that which no longer has to do with the public sphere or politics of each region but with problems or issues of a private nature and that affect the life of each individual. In this sense, private international law regulates issues such as foreigners, international crimes, jurisdictions of the different judicial systems and of safety, etc.
Private international law is one of the types of law that has grown the most in recent decades due to the sustained growth of the tourism and of the population exchanges that take place between different regions of the planet. Obviously, whenever we talk about private international law we will be talking about national regions and not about regions that make up the same country or
territory. The main function of private international law is to settle and resolve conflicts that involve confrontation between different jurisdictions in certain situations. It is common, for example, that, faced with a crime committed by an individual of foreign nationality, it is difficult decide what is the type of legislation or right that governs him: that of his own country or that of the country in which he committed the crime. Private international law then has the function of establishing which is the legislation that will govern in each case taking into account the particular situations that this type of conditions may generate.
As explained, the main objective of private international law is to regulate and control the international relations that can occur between private, either between individuals or entities (as long as these do not belong to the public sphere). Many times, the clash of the laws of different countries makes it not easy to determine what the possible resolution of each case is.
