The concept of sustainable development is relatively new, having appeared among us at the end of the twentieth century. Meanwhile, through it refers to the global economic expansion accompanied by the use of natural resources, although underlining the importance of considering above all social and global environmental factors in order not to interfere with this growth negatively on the same. That is to say, the proposal of this concept is to promote world growth but that in this way neither the integrity of the planet nor life in general is compromised.
It should be noted that this concept may also appear referred to as sustainable development and lasting development.
Was in the year 1987, in the Report Brundtland, a work that was prepared by various nations for the UN , and in which the contrast that existed between economic development and caring for the planet was put in the magnifying glass and in consideration that the concept was mentioned for the first time and was imposed. This report especially warned that economic growth was being done in many cases at the expense of
environment and he purposely maintained that the demands of the present society must be satisfied but without compromising or mortgaging the possibilities of others with the mission of only attending to one's ownSo, this concept includes the determinant participation of three actors: economy, society and environment environment.
Among their proposals, those who advocate for sustainable development intend to introduce the improvement of technology and social organization so that the environment can recover at the same rate in which it is affected by human activity and thus avoid falling into a scenario of lack of resources natural.
On the other hand, the idea is to create a collective consciousness that economic growth is absolutely formidable and towards this you have to orient yourself, however, you have to do it respecting and caring for the environment natural. Because only by committing to it can a development that lasts over time be achieved.
