Depending on the context in which the word is used grant will present different meanings.
Financial aid extended by the state or a private party to pay for an activity or someone's work or study
Its most general use tells us that a grant is that economic assistance, normally emanating from a state body, which depends on the government of the day, and whose mission is to pay or maintain a certain activity.
Generally linked to education, health, or any other type of issue inherent to the social assistance of the most vulnerable sector of the population because it does not have resources, or failing that, to those who need this help for the contribution to the common good that they make, for example through a non-profit organization aimed at the building of houses or healthcare.
Also, the grant is often referred to as a subsidy.
In theaccounting, especially in the public, a grant will be the item of money that the state allocates to the different agents of the public administrations and that from these can then go to other public, private or private entities whose mission is to solve any project or special activity of the aforementioned Destinations.
Recipients of a grant must strictly comply with the conditions that have been agreed in a timely manner for the delivery of the Mass, otherwise, once the agreement, the administration in question may be canceled, leaving it without effect.
Activities that are normally subsidized: culture and art, education, health, transport ...
Therefore, it is that the grant will create a relationship between the beneficiary and the administration in question.
Currently, many activities are subsidized by the state, such as: public transport, education, health, agriculture, among other.
On the other hand, in the educational field, the term subsidy is often used as a synonym for scholarship.
In this context, the subsidy would imply the economic contribution that is given to those students or researchers who do not have a considerable capital to carry out their studies or research.
These students or scientists have enormous proven potential, with special and above-average qualities, and that is why they are decides to help since they cannot afford studies or jobs per se, but it is known for sure that they will meet the study objectives or from investigation, as appropriate, and will bring great benefits to the community.
The economic contribution in this case may come from organisms officials, such as the Ministry of Education, or failing that, private companies, such as banks or foundations.
There are two types of grants or scholarships, the generals (conducting ordinary studies) and the specific (exchanges abroad, between different universities in the same country).
These practices have evolved and become very widespread in recent years, in many cases even substituted other types of contracts, which in other conditions would require better salaries and better conditions labor. The other side of the coin has been precisely this, allowing companies to obtain specialized and cheaper labor, unfortunately, in some cases reaching exploitation.
At the artistic level, state subsidies to artists, film and television production companies or theater companies are also very frequent.
Through them, filmmakers, actors, producers, among others, can pay for their productions, which normally enjoy a special prestige both for the actor and creative part, as well as for the content.
Generally, these types of proposals are presented in theaters or public rooms, that is, they depend on the governments national or municipal and have a cheaper input value than other larger productions and private character.
The subsidy for theatrical, music, movie, or television shows is a politics very relevant public because it influences notably and positively the valuation and culture of the peoples.
The more accessible these products are, and also the more help they receive from the state to be able to mount them, that government will be investing directly in raising the cultural level of its nation.
We must say in this regard that these subsidies must be controlled by a control body so that the conditions, and of course they must be the most plural, that is, grant them to any artist or producer beyond the ideology that I profess.
