Example of Comparison in Poems

When speaking of literary figures in poems or also in stories, it is possible to find several of these, such as metaphor, euphemisms or paradoxes, to mention some of the many that exist, however in poetry and also in many songs, which are literarily known as lyric poems, the most widely used literary form is that of comparison.
Comparing is defined as “observing the relationship that two or more elements have, according to their similar or different characteristics”, when the comparison in poems it is usually to express the beauty, or on the contrary, the horror that is what this poem refers to. For example, to express the beauty of green eyes, it is possible to compare them with emeralds, while to refer to a terrible aroma, it can be compared to vinegar.
The comparison in poems It can be made with inanimate objects, animals, people, characters and even with different situations or characteristics of these situations.
Examples of comparison in poems:
-The seasickness was just like being in the sea, with the movement of the waves, to one side and the other.
-Your comment about him was as precise as a surgical cut.
-Her eyes of him resembled a pair of stars at midnight, for the brilliance that emanated like two diamonds in the middle of coal.
-The smell was as terrible as the one you perceive when inhaling a strong breath of air on a bottle of vinegar.
-The pain she felt was as if a thousand needles pierced her skin, all at once.
-She ran off like a horse ridden by someone fleeing from something dreadful.
-Then she sang as if she had been on that stage all her life.
-She slept so peacefully that she looked like a baby barely a few months old.
