The name of Nursing Infant maternal is one who receives a branch of nursing that is in charge of carrying out activities and tasks related to pregnant or parturient women as well as to kids once these have been born. Maternal-child nursing is perhaps one of the branches of nursing that requires the greatest dedication and commitment because, when it comes to newborn patients, we are talking about very delicate and fragile patients who need all kinds of attention, care and a lot of commitment.
Because maternal and child nursing has to deal with the most important phenomenon of the human reproductive cycle, its Work object cannot be limited to only a specific moment but takes into account the entire process from the beginning of functioning of the reproductive cycle, going through the pregnancy and childbirth, the puerperium and following in the reinforcement and care of the Health familiar once the group mother-father-son has been established.
The main objective of maternal and child nursing is to prevent the presence of any type of complications or diseases that may alter the normal reproductive cycle, pregnancy and birth of the creature. So it is then that this branch of nursing must take care not only of the mother but also of the child from before it is born, that is, from the moment it begins to develop within the womb of its mother.
Some of the situations that this branch of nursing deals with are the control and care of the reproductive health of the woman, the vital signs of the mother and the baby during pregnancy, the nutrition, the time of delivery and the subsequent development of the baby once born (its growth and adaptation).
