Stereotype image of what a hacker is. This has been instilled in us by the movies that we usually see on this subject.
Piracy is a modern way of breaking the law but using computer media for this. Those harmed by piracy are almost everyone, public institutions, companies, foundations, etc. they are not aware of its existence.
For anyone who works with computers connected to the network of networks or the Internet, it is REQUIRED know that it exists, since ignoring it may mean losing our stored data or having to install the Operating system of the computer, with the consequent expense that it requires.
A pirate is a person who creates through his knowledge of computing, programs to make other people pay money to protect themselves and whose sole purpose is to infiltrate the victim's computer in order to extort, spy on her or in the worst case destroy all her information. Piracy taken to its broadest extremes is practiced by all of us. For example when we download a song, movie or any content from a page without paying royalties. This depends on which country we are in and the
legislation about. Piracy is basically the use of resources for which have not been paid and for which should have been paid.Image of a possible real pirate. Middle-aged, with university studies and with office work.
As you can see, the term piracy refers to many computer-level actions that are outside the law in general or outside the moral of the people or outside the laws of the country in which you live.
Copyright piracy causes many losses to companies, governments and institutions, however it facilitates the day to day of the life of the ordinary user because he manages to use means that were previously only available to people with purchasing power high. However, getting things (whatever they are) through piracy makes it impossible to know who they come from. really, if from an honest person who wants to share or from a person who has modified the content to download so that it run a code malicious software that infects our computer and that sometimes costs us more than if we had bought original software.
Piracy is a double-edged sword it is important to be up to date with the updates of our antivirus and that if possible it is not hacked since no one would give you update support for a long time. The best defense against piracy is prevention and the knowledge that it exists.
