Reflective Verbs Example

The reflective verbs or reflexives in English, as well as in Spanish, are those in which the subject's action falls on himself, using a reflexive pronoun to conjugate himself.
There are some reflective verbs which are in Spanish but not in English, in addition to the fact that it is not always necessary to use the reflexive pronoun to conjugate them.
Examples of reflective verbs:
- To wash
- To wash oneself
- To prepare / prepare
- To prepare oneself / prepare myself
There are some reflective verbs in Spanish that in English they are not.
To get up / get up
To sit down
To wake up
It is not always necessary to conjugate verbs reflexively.
In the morning, I wash myself and I shave myself / In the morning, I wash and shave myself.
It is more correct to say: In the morning, I wash and shave

To wash oneself
I clean myself / I clean myself
You clean yourself / you clean yourself
He clean himself / he cleans himself
She clean herself / she cleans herself
It clean itself / is cleaned (animal, thing)
We clean ourselves / we clean ourselves
