He past perfectIt is a tense in English that is used to express actions that occurred before another past action. For example: Yo had been there before./ I had been there before.
It is used to express priority in relation to another past time, and is used when the order of the story is reversed, that is, when it is not chronological. For example: When we got to the theater (past), the play had already started(previous past). / When we got to the theater, the play had already started.
He past perfectis equivalent to past tense pluperfect in Spanish (“had done”, “habían gone”).
