A dynasty is understood as the group of people who govern and who belong to the same family or who have descendants in common. A dynasty is a central element in the construction of power since it is where a specific political project is reflected, where it becomes flesh and becomes reality.
Political power in the hands of a few throughout the history of humanity
To properly understand why a dynasty is important, we must first note that throughout history of Humanity the most common form of political government and the one that has been found the most in societies of all kinds has been that of the monarchy. This form of government implies that power is in the hands of a person who acts as governor, makes decisions and carries out specific measures for the society he governs.
Monarchies (of all continents) have generally maintained a similar structure that assumed that the one who ruled was part of a family that in some way way (legitimate or not) had come to that power and that until that family disappeared or had no more continuity or descendants it would hold the government in the region. This is what we understand as a dynasty: a succession of monarchical rulers passing power from father to son according to the rules that must be respected and that supposes a continuity in the possession of political power.
The dynasty and the principle of divine inheritance
The dynasty is one of the most interesting ways to understand the concept of government since it gives us forces us to ask how it is that the family that governs and that forms the ruling dynasty arrives at that place. In general, the justification for how those who govern govern has to do with divine origin. Unlike what happens with other more secular forms of government such as the democracy, the monarchy and the dynasties that govern it are usually closely linked to the religion and to faith, for which the presence of those specific rulers is justified based on the decision and/or election of the gods.
In some specific historical moments the dynasties have come to be the reigning ones from struggles civil or internecine within the same society and this leads to the replacement or succession of different types of rulers. Whatever the case, the concept of dynasty is very important to understand the history of the All humanity and how societies through time and geographical spaces have been able to build the power.
