The communication It is one of the most important bases in a civilized society, in which people interact and use verbal language to do business. Verbal communication is even richer than that forged through a piece of paper or through a few lines on a screen, and it improves substantially if it is combined with bodily expression.
In 1857, Antonio Meucci invented the telephone, although the first to file the patent was Alexander Graham Bell in 1876: with them, and over time, the telegram, changing the world in relation to the transmission of information and relationship between people, producing a bilateral communication and in real time where the voice would be the protagonist indisputable.
The first mobile phone was first marketed in 1984, 11 years after Martin Cooper and John F. Mitchell gave a first demo: the Motorola DynaTAC 8000X was the first of its kind to offer a total and more comfortable mobility, beyond the telephones that were installed in the cars. The movie “Wall Street”, starring Michael Douglas, shows the future of wireless communications from anywhere, anytime.
But it would not be until the end of the last decade of the 90s that the cell phone would begin to become popular worldwide, taking the path to consolidate itself as an essential communication tool, to meet the needs of the individual in an instant and for a purpose determined.
The birth of the mobile would be the next invention of great relevance for the organized societies of the 5 continents, which would mean complete freedom to communicate in any area with sufficient wireless network coverage: in those places where the copper telephone cable did not reach, the cell phone would take advantage of the wireless digital networks to connect to the people.
The adoption of the mobile by society changed the way people communicate, so much so that privacy was favored by the absence of a cable and a physical place from which to talk on the phone: the living room phone would already be obsolete, and any individual who wanted to communicate could do so from any corner of a house, any corner of a city... being able to flee from the hustle and bustle in search of a quiet place from which to start a conversation.
The first cell phones provided their owner with a quick way to transmit information thanks to text messages (SMS), a instant messaging service ideal for communicating or informing in a few words: "We meet at 5:00 p.m. in front of restaurant 5 Seasons?". Those first cell phones, of course, transferred the conversations to any imaginable environment, and making it unnecessary to stay in a specific place in case you were waiting for a call: with the mobile you could talk with a person while traveling on public transport, walking down the street or while sipping a cup of coffee in a café. The cell phone would transfer the traditional location of a call, in a house or telephone booth, to any geographical point where it was at the time of receiving said call.
During the first decade of the new millennium, the design of the mobile phone acquired physical dimensions small enough to fit unobtrusively in a pocket. pants or jacket, or in a small bag: the mobility and weight of cell phones has contributed to comfortable handling and to being considered one of the essential objects before leaving home.
The cell phone provides freedom of movement, greater privacy in communications, personal security, becomes an aid instrument, and is today a tool through which to stay connected to the world.
The modern mobile phone, or Smartphone, is today the most important information, entertainment and communication center, a Swiss army knife to use to play, receive information, find your way around a city, communicate in real time (via WhatsApp, BBM, Hangouts), make personal and professional connections (Facebook, LinkedIn), or enjoy entertainment on music, Photography and video.
The mobile, being an instrument that receives valuable amounts of information and provides us with a multitude of tools to be in contact with each other, has also been responsible for changes in the habits of individuals and professionals, improving the productivity at work, making us more locatable, and becoming the vital instrument that accompanies our long days.
The cell phone concentrates, in a little less than 100 grams and very limited dimensions, the most effective solution for people to communicate, get information and enjoy individual entertainment.
