Importance of Dinosaurs

When studying dinosaurs, we generally do not realize the importance they had. We usually see them as animals that once inhabited the earth and tragically disappeared. Nevertheless, both its existence and its extinction have been crucial to many fields of investigation. To begin with, thanks to these dinosaurs, creationist theories lose strength compared to the theory of evolution.
The existence of dinosaurs would give greater credibility to the theory of evolution, simply because in the creationist theories, related to the different religions of the world, these beings are not mentioned.
This makes names like Darwin, Lamark and Mendel more relevant. It would not be a divine being that would have created man, we would simply be a slow evolution of the life that already inhabited this planet millions of years ago.
Darwin would then make more sense with his theory of natural selection, in which the strongest survived. Likewise, Lamark would also be partly right when he assured that the characteristics
that we acquired in life were passed on to our descendants (like the long neck of a giraffe). Finally, Mendel would have also been decisive for his theory on the combination of genes and their dominant and recessive character. In addition to giving these theories more reliability, these dinosaurs, or rather their remains, they have helped man to study in some more precise way what life was like in those days, many millions before man inhabited the earth.
Another extremely important point is that of its extinction; and it is that thanks to it, we have been able to understand that human civilization is not eternal. Extinction is possible. If millions of large and small beings disappeared from the face of the earth, man could also do it. That pushed researchers to try to understand what was the reason, to establish it as one of the greatest dangers to humanity.
In this regard, the theories are quite diverse. Some say it was due to a climate change really big. Radical change in temperatures that gradually managed to end the food chain of those days.
However, the strongest hypotheses speak of the impact of a large meteorite with the earth. A very large meteorite that, in addition to wiping out a large part of the population of dinosaurs led to a rapid and deadly change in climate.
Thus, taking all this into account, we can say that dinosaurs are not just extinct species to study. They were animals that have given a lot of information to current man, more than we could imagine.
