From the very moment in which we are born, we are constituted as people, by the mere fact of our existence and all people share something in common, above all things: they are social beings. This means that the human being is basically a being that needs live in society and that he has the capabilities to do it. If there is something that differentiates man from the rest of the animals and vegetables (which are also living beings) is that human beings have been able to create abstract structures such as forms of government, economic models, alphabets/languages/languages, the institution of work, religions and different beliefs, and also has the ability (sometimes misused) to significantly transform its environment natural.
Fine, but the point is that The human being is a social being and from there, and from the moment of his birth, he integrates and sis recognized as someone who belongs to certain groups within a society. In the first years of life, the family is the essential social group, which is why it is called the primary social group, with which the person he will strengthen his ties and begin to acquire some fundamental skills, which will serve him well to later socialize with the other groups: speaking, walking, establishing simple relationships between elements, recognizing objects and learning their name (name), among others.
During the rest of his existence, the person will then be part of, will belong to different social groups such as the circle of friends, such as those who know each other in the neighborhood or they live relatively close to the person, schoolmates, also including whoever their teachers are, university classmates, coworkers, among others.
It should be noted that, of what is called social groups, the people with whom the being socializes in art schools, sports clubs, music schools, non-governmental organizations or civilians, political parties, associations of professionals or people with a certain trade, associations of people with the same hobby or collectors, among many other options.
When belonging to a particular social group is established, it is because one or more is shared characteristics with the other members: with our family we share blood descent, last name and a common home, with our university companions share the same race towards the same objective: the graduation.
