Example of Developed Notation

It is known as expanded notation to the division that is made of the numbers to be able to read them in the proper way.

This division is done through three parameters:

• Periods
• Lessons
• Orders

Which have three numbers each

• Units
• Tens
• Hundreds

Thus each period has units, tens and hundreds and this separation has two meanings, the English and the Latin.

In English they are divided into:

1. Billions
2. Millions
3. Thousands and
4. Units

Instead the Latin is divided into:

1. Millions of millions
2. Millions
3. Thousands and
4. Units

Being the Latina the one used in the Latin American system

The way to read a number. The number 12,124, 706,821 consists of four periods, each complete period consists of three orders, units tens and hundreds.

This number reads: twelve trillion, one hundred twenty-four million, seven hundred six thousand eight hundred twenty-one.

In the Latin case it would read like this: twelve thousand one hundred twenty-four million, seven hundred six thousand eight hundred twenty-one.
