A custody letter is a document that is intended to assign or request custody of a person, is generally performed in children, but it can also be performed in people in fas (who cannot be self-sufficient) and for the elderly.
The legal value of this document may vary depending on the country or place and is generally of a civil nature.
The variants of this document are basically two:

Who subscribes María Antonieta Mendieta Castro, hereby request permanent custody of my minor children named Antonio and Javier with surnames Gonzales Mendieta who are in the custody of his father since the divorce was consummated three years ago years.

The reason for this request is that her father, Juan Carlos Gonzales Flores, will leave the country for work reasons, which led to the separation of my children from his close family.

With the present and before the notary public No 4997 of the State of Mexico, Mrs. María de Guadalupe Sánchez Vargas relinquishes full custody of her older sister Lucia Antonia Sánchez Vargas, 77 years of age, this because for health reasons she cannot continue to care for her or take care of her her assets.
Cause for which she cedes all her obligations and care to her great-nephew Jesús Fernández Fuentes to whom she will grant a monthly financial premium of 1,500.00 (one thousand five hundred pesos) for your care and support, covering the rest of the care and maintenance Mr. Jesús Fernández Fuentes who is also a family member and obligated to the Ms. Lucia Antonia Sánchez Vargas.
Clarification:
It is clarified that Mrs. Lucía Antonia Sánchez Vargas is physically disabled and has been declared “infas” (requires special care).
It requires attention having paralysis in the right part of the whole body and inability to speak.
Annotations:
She has properties both in Mexico City and in the state of Nuevo León in Monterrey N.L.
The two properties of her will remain in the custody of her great-nephew, having to manage them for the benefit of Mrs. Lucy.
If required, Ms. Lucía has two younger siblings who will contribute 1,500.00 (one thousand five hundred pesos) each depending on her possibilities.
The notary public Mr. Lic. Carlos Natalio Nava Noriega, Notary No 4997 in the state of Mexico attests to the foregoing.
