This painting is a clear representation of the European Renaissance, the technique of making this painting is known as sfumatoque consists of eliminating the fixed and sharp contours by blurring the borders of the objects in a way that seems to be they melt. Through this technique a three-dimensional effect is given to the paintings. One of the aspects that make this work so peculiar is the model's smile, which disappears when it is stared at and reappears when the viewer fixes their eyes on another part of the painting.
