Example of Interpersonal Intelligence

The Interpersonal intelligence allows us to understand others. It is based on the ability to manage human relationships and the empathy with which we "put on the other's shoes" and recognize their motivations, reasons and emotions.
This type of intelligence is a fundamental complement to any of the others, since it does not serve as a nothing if we get the best grades but we choose our friends badly and, later, our partner. Most of the activities carried out in life depend on interpersonal intelligence, since they are made up of human groups in which we must interact.
Great leaders have strong interpersonal intelligence for better or for worse. Martin Luther King, the American civil rights leader, was an inspiring speaker who used his skills to inspire radical social change.
Strong interpersonal skills are also needed in forms of therapy and in teaching the disabled. Counselors must empathize with their patients to understand their motivations and behavior, a difficult task when they cannot articulate their own feelings.
