Public Space and Urban Press

This chapter is based on the press and everything it includes, since as we know there are several newspapers and each one has different profiles. As mentioned above, each medium is intended for different social groups. In the press, other means are used such as photographs that in a certain way attract the attention of readers and it is important to see how much they are used in certain news. In this book, six of the main newspapers are basically mentioned, these are El Día, Excelsior, El Financiero, La Jornada, Universal, and one plus one. It also talks about the actors and interlocutors, such as politics and their leaders, so to speak.
Returning to the news and newspapers, it is interesting to see how the urban city becomes an instrument to study, the most curious thing is to see the amount of readings that are made of this and the importance given to certain places, since places and situations are usually mentioned to which we are used to and put aside small entities in which interesting things can happen, situations that can happen to have a past linked to common situations and related to politics, society or the environment that is something that includes all citizens. Photographs are the best medium within the press to exemplify a situation and each newspaper uses different ways of using them, for example, Excelsior, which uses several photographs for a news item, sometimes up to five, these are serialized, each photograph follows another to make it easier to read and exemplified. The press allows people to be informed, although, as mentioned above, various interlocutors intercede, such as organizations and institutions public, private education or citizen movement, each with a specific purpose which means that the information at a certain moment is not the real one. 100%.

Each newspaper has a certain language when it comes to visual media and ways of writing, since Each news is intended to be written in a way that achieves certain ends and says what is planned.
For this reason we can see that a medium such as the press can make a city perhaps something different from what it is, it all depends on the way it is said and on the language in which it is raised, photography is a very important medium within the press since we not only read what we see written, if not everything we can observe and everything we can make a text.
