The Marriage certificate It is an official document issued by the civil registry and protocolized by a Civil Registry judge, a document with which the union of a man and a woman in the conjugal regime and is carried out under a marriage contract, with which the contracting parties acquire rights and obligations.

Regarding marriages of the same gender, the original concepts have been contravened, now accepting as marriage the union of two people of the same gender. This with the purpose that said unions have access to the same family protection rights that traditional marriage protects.

For the completion of a marriage certificate, certain requirements are requested, such as:

• Marriage request
• Original birth certificate of both parties (if this is not available, you can use the baptismal certificate or two witnesses).
• Official identification of the contracting parties and witnesses.
• Four witnesses.
• Medical certificate of pre-nuptial examinations of both spouses.
• If you are a minor, written authorization from parents or guardians will be required.
• In the event of a previous marriage, either of one or both parties, a certified copy of the divorce certificate or certified copy of the judgment of nullity, in the case of widowhood a copy of the death certificate or widowhood.
• In case of being a foreigner one or both of the spouses, the permission of the Secretary of the Interior is required.
• The payment of rights corresponding to the procedure.
