Morphological and Physiological Characteristics of Down Syndrome

Down syndrome is caused by trisomy in chromosomes, since there are three chromosomes instead of two.
This is not a disease as such, it is a syndrome produced by the affection of the individual's chromosomes which produces some Physiological morphological characteristics of Down syndrome that are easy to appreciate and extremely inappropriate for your care.

- Growth retardation
- Mental retardation of varying degrees.
- Tendency to Leukemia.
- Thyroid Dysfunction.
- Deafness and sight defects.
- Premature aging.
- Late sexual maturation.
- Weak immune system
- Development of symptoms of Alzheimer's disease from the age of 35.
