In sexist behaviors, two aspects are activated: the misogyny and power structures based on patriarchy. In a parallel way, there are women who despise men with the same attitudes as macho men but from their status as women. In other words, sexism and hembrism are two equivalent behaviors, since both show an intolerant mentality towards people of the opposite sex.

Feminism is not the same as feminism

These two labels are confused with some frequency, but in reality they are two different concepts. The approach feminist has a vindictive component, since its purpose consists in the full equality social between men and women.

On the contrary, feminism becomes an aggressive and offensive feminism, since the man is hated and despised for the fact of being a man.

A neologism that has become popular in everyday language

The term hembrismo is of recent creation and is used normally like synonym of misandria. While misogyny is hatred of the feminine, misandry is hatred of the masculine.

The most frequent use of this term refers to all those behaviors and evaluations in which there is a contempt of women towards men. Thus, if a man is insulted or humiliated by a woman without any justification, she is being the victim of a attitude hembrist.

The Feminazi Insult in the Context of the Feminism Debate

In recent years the term feminazi has become popular. It refers to women who are considered radical and intolerant feminists. In other words, a feminazi becomes an extremist of the movement feminist.

As a general guideline, no woman defines herself as a feminazi, as this label is used as an insult or a disqualification. For some psychologists, the pejorative use of the word feminazi is a defense mechanism of some men to oppose the supposed attacks of feminism or feminism.

Those accused of being feminazis claim that this term is a form of machismo to disqualify the feminist movement.

Machismo and hembrismo are two sides of the same coin

Intolerant and aggressive attitudes are equally despicable and the sex of the intolerant person is irrelevant. It does not seem reasonable to accept that there is a intolerance good and bad.

Machismo and hembrismo have the same ingredients: hatred, prejudice, arrogance and aggressiveness.
