The communication Human can be characterized by presenting many forms and expressions of various kinds. One of them is sarcasm, one of the ways of expressing oneself that reaches the interlocutors the most because it appeals to the reaction of those who act as audience. Sarcasm is always related to a certain sense of humor and with the originality of the one who speaks.
We can define sarcasm as a form of oral expression which is based on the use of irony or mockery more or less harsh with respect to different topics, situations or people. Sarcasm is, in other words, saying or expressing what one thinks not directly but through humor or irony to generate a specific reaction from the audience. Sarcasm can be easily discernible in some cases, for example when the speaker uses it to comment on unrealistic situations. However, it can also be very subtle and implicit in some particular cases in which it does not seek to be easily demonstrated.
Sarcasm can also be present in written communication through the use of phrases, expressions or even punctuation marks or
writing that highlight the unreality or mockery of the idea expressed. Typically, using punctuation marks as repeated punctuation marks admiration or question may be related to the use of sarcasm. One of the problems with sarcasm is the fact that, being not always easily understandable, many people can take the sarcastic comments in a bad way, without realizing that the meaning is not really that but that it is a exaggeration. As with irony, sarcasm needs some intelligence, creativity or mental speed so as to be able to easily put together these very particular and significant expressions.
