The mythology Greek is without a doubt the most important and popular of mythologies. The gods who occupied the Greek Olympus transcended the centuries and are still valid today. And within that vast universe one of the most outstanding goddesses, to whom she had to allude and represent the reproduction, the love, the beauty and the wish went to the goddess Aphrodite.
Owner of great beauty is born from the sea foam
The myth around this goddess says that she arises from the foam of the sea, in the Cyprus area, meanwhile, her appearance of her physical she is of great beauty, with a slender and good-looking body and hair that stands out for its length and its braids of her. The Titan Crono would have cut the genitalia of Uranus (God of the sky) during the Titanomachy and threw them into the sea and at that moment the beautiful maid Aphrodite.

Venerated in the Aphrodisias
How she was tradition With most of the gods, in various cities and towns of Greece special cults and festivals were held that had the mission of venerating and paying homage to them. And of course Aphrodite, a goddess so important to the Greeks, had her own called Aphrodisias.
They were celebrated throughout Greece but especially in the cities of Athens and Corinth. The temple where the adoration of her was carried out was the Acrocorinth, an elevation formed by rocks in the city of Corinth precisely. It was one of the most important buildings in Greece. She was a practice common the sexual feast of the priestesses to pay homage to the goddess.
This goddess was linked especially to the sea and several of its inhabitants such as dolphins, swans and clams. She also with doves, pearls, and flowers like the apple tree, the roses and the myrtle, among others.
Aphrodite is a goddess who has had many pairs in other mythologies, one of the most relevant has been Venus, in Roman Mythology.
