The air that surrounds the Earth is known as the atmosphere. The layer of gas that surrounds the planet is attracted by the force of gravity and by the effect of low temperatures.
The Earth's atmosphere has not always been the same, but its formation has been the result of a process of millions of years. Initially it was made up of hydrogen and helium.
In a next phase, the planet was bombarded by a large number of meteorites, which led to intense tectonic and volcanic activity. The gases that were released in the previous stage, created a secondary atmosphere with carbon dioxide, nitrogen and sulfurous gases. Ultimately, it was nature itself that changed the structure of the atmosphere.
What is the Earth's atmosphere made of?
Its chemical structure is as follows: 78% nitrogen, 21% oxygen and 1% argon, carbon dioxide, water vapor, ozone and solid particles. All these elements that make it up are the basis of life on our planet.
On the one hand, the oxygen in the atmosphere is what allows plants and animals to convert their food into
Energy and, on the other, carbon dioxide is used by plants to produce food on which animals depend. Despite the fact that this composition is stable, it must be remembered that alterations occur in the atmosphere due to the intervention human.Parts of the atmosphere
The atmosphere is divided into the following parts:
1) troposphere, where the temperature it is descending progressively and where most meteorological phenomena occur,
2) stratosphere, where the temperature is constant up to 50 km, the gases form layers and in it is the ozone layer that protects us from the sun's ultraviolet rays
3) mesosphere, where the temperature increases sharply and then drops to -75 degrees Celsius,
4) thermosphere or ionosphere, which is located between 80 and 500 km and where temperatures above 1500 degrees Celsius are reached and
5) exosphere, located from 500 km and that constitutes the part of the atmosphere that comes into contact with the outer space, considering that there are no gases there and therefore the air has no properties or changes of temperature.
Currently, the actions of man have dangerously affected the atmosphere, a situation that led to a conscience and in the provision of measures to avoid future evils. It is to be hoped that this episode will serve as a warning for the care of our planet.
Human relationships also generate a certain atmosphere
The type of human relationships generates a certain environment, also known as an atmosphere. There are as many social atmospheres as there are human contexts. There are pleasant and calm atmospheres, of tension, of violence and hate or festive.
On literature, the creators try to create a certain atmosphere so that the reader lives the events with more intensity. If someone is very uncomfortable in a place for any reason, they are likely to say that there is an unbreathable atmosphere.
