We understand rubber as the product obtained from the milky emulsions of some plants such as Hevea brasiliensis or rubber tree. The product immediately obtained from the plant is known as latex and it is from this product that it is chemically treated that rubber is then obtained. Rubber is mainly used in the production tires and other elements made from hydrocarbons. Rubber can also be obtained in a artificial or synthetic imitating the production process.
The rubber plant or rubber tree from which the first products began to be obtained at the end of the 19th century is found in America from the South as well as in Central America, which is why the discovery of the usefulness that this plant had for the West was of great importance. Since then, the exploitation This plant has been on the rise, clearing forests and natural spaces in order to obtain it. It is important to point out that before the Europeans did it, rubber was obtained from the plant mentioned by pre-Columbian cultures, although its use was obviously different. Due to its great
elasticity, that substance milky was very useful to perform certain types of footwear, instruments and many other items. There are several ways in which today's society processes the latex obtained from the plant. Rubber molding can be achieved by hot compression of latex powder into molds with the desired shape, from the hydraulic transfer of the heated material, by injection of the hot product into a closed mold or by the process of dehumidification. Any of these methods is used today and has as purpose obtain different types of products that ensure durability and accessibility according to the way in which they have been obtained.
