The concept of alienated is used to designate that person who is suffering from a alienation.
Basically, alienation is a very typical psychic condition that can affect people and that consists of the loss of reason, either temporarily, that is, the disorder lasts only a while and then the person manages to restore their mental state normal. Or failing that, it may be a permanent alienation that will affect the individual forever.
The alienated person is characterized by the loss of identity, this means that the individual suppresses his personality and then it will become malleable to what the external world indicates and proposes. He will not act according to his own being but will act in a totally opposite way as a consequence of the state of alienation.
There can be several causes or situations that can lead to the alienation of a person. Generally when an individual is subjected to many and strong pressures he can fall into a state of this type.
The economic situation, politics or social in which a person is immersed can lead to alienation.
This concept has been approached from different angles, the sociology, the religion and obviously the psychology, among other disciplines, have dealt with this phenomenon.
Meanwhile, the German philosopher Karl Marx He was one of those who has dealt the most with this situation, spreading it through his writings and speeches.
Marx argued that private property was the primary cause of the alienation suffered by the lowest and most oppressed social stratum of a society. In other words, the existence of social classes and that differentiation that they propose per se is what triggers alienation in those who are located in the lowest echelons of it.
Marx's proposal to overcome this state was the exile of classes and their differentiation.
Although it is usual that this word is used, it is important that we emphasize that there are other terms that have a more popular use, such is the case of crazy, disturbed, insane, unbalanced.
The opposite state of alienated is that of balanced, which is characterized by being in Balance and dominated by prudence and good sense.
