The concept of canary is used extensively in our language to name a type of bird that stands out for its singularsinging and that it is originally from the Canary Islands, hence the denomination of Canary. This bird is even considered the symbol natural of this popular archipelago Spanish.
Main features
Their physical appearance includes a long forked tail, a slender beak and a Format cone-shaped and the body covered by yellow, green or white feathers.
Domestic or wild life
We must emphasize that this type of bird has been bred domestically for several centuries when the wild specimens were captured and brought home to live, turning them into pets from company for many people, especially those who love birds. Some risky ones have them loose, and others, to prevent them from escaping or being attacked by animals, they house them in the famous bird cages designed for this purpose. The cage must be placed in a cool and dry place, and never expose it to extreme temperatures.
Inside them they place Water and food, usually birdseed, millet and some vegetables, so they can be served whenever they like.
Now, there is also the canary wild who does not live at home and whose life unfolds wildly. It can inhabit the most varied ecosystems, from forests to dunes and also in parks and gardens created by humans. It feeds on vegetation, some insects, seeds and fruits.
The reproductive modality is like that of the rest of the birds, the female places an egg after being fertilized by the male and will incubate it in the nest until the chick is born.
They usually nest in groups and the nest they make has a cup shape that is placed in a tall tree or bush and cleverly hidden to protect it from predators.
A native of the Canary Islands
On the other hand, the concept of canary is used to refer to that person who is a native of the Canary Islands, a Spanish autonomous community and that is an archipelago.
