The term billboard is used to refer to those hanging structures that are normally located on walls or in well visible spaces in which they are they place notices, notifications, dates and different important information so that interested people can access it and be aware of the data transmitted. In a perhaps a bit more metaphorical sense, the term is also used to talk about the shows of movie theater, theater and others that are presented at the moment in each region (for example in a city) despite the fact that they are not explicitly communicated through a billboard.
The billboards are well known and common in spaces in which a lot of information is poured and those who pass through the place are invited or requested to find out about different data. Some of the most common settings are schools, universities, workplaces, doctors' offices, supermarkets, banks, etc. All these spaces use the billboard as method fast, easy and accessible to communicate data to a significant amount of the
population, thus avoiding wasting the time of having to communicate each thing to those who need it. The idea of the billboard also assumes in a sense that, when the information is placed there, it is responsibility of the interested parties keep informed about these exposed data.Billboards can be very different from each other depending on the space in which they are placed. Thus, a student billboard will not be the same as a bank billboard, not only because of the type of information that is released in each case, but also because of the type of language to be used, the different ways to call the attention which will be used, etc. For example, a bank billboard is much more sober and formal than that of a student center, perhaps more messy, colorful and informal.
