When we use the term 'classic' or 'classic', we are referring to some situation, object, phenomenon or style artistic that follows the classical parameters, that is, those established in the Classical Antiquity of Greece and Rome. However, the term can also have other meanings that are related to the notion of traditional, elegant or rational.
The word classical comes from the idea of class and here this second term does not refer only to a social class if not to a type of object, to a type of situation, to a type of phenomenon; in short, to a category. A classic food can be a kind of food, while a classic dress is also.
However, the most common use of the idea of classical or classical is that which is related to the civilization classical, the combined civilization of Ancient Greece and Ancient Rome. These two civilizations were the ones that provided the foundation for the identity Western and therefore, everything that returns to its values and parameters will be considered classic. For example, a type of
architecture Classical will deal with the elements of architecture of these civilizations. At the same time, a classical period of any society or community is considered as the period in which the maximum splendor and the maximum perfection of the already existing values were reached. Thus, we can also find elements that belong to the classical periods of other civilizations, not only the Greco-Roman.Finally, if we must explain the word in feminine form, it is most likely that we are referring to a type of music known as "classical music". Classical music is understood as the opposite of the popular music or massive. It is characterized by being music composed of different instruments such as violins, violas, trombones, trumpets, clarinets, guitars, timpani, piano and other instruments that are combined all together. Classical music gets this name from the fact that its importance spread in the period of neoclacisism (19th century) when classical values were retaken for different areas Of art.
