The ballpoint is a writing instrument, it is the most widely used in the world and is characterized by a charging tip, which contains a steel or tungsten pellet, which when in contact with the paper, doses the ink by means of the Bearing. it can be fine, medium or large knit.
It consists of a metal or plastic tube, with ink and at one end the writing tip is attached, that contains a metal pellet from which it acquired the name and regulates the output of ink to the paper. This is placed inside a frame that allows comfortable handling. The ballpoint It was invented in 1938 by the Hungarian brothers, Laszlo and George Biro.
It is said that Laszlo was bothered by failures with his fountain pen, in the middle of a report, the idea came to him when he observed two children playing with marbles in the street; a marble passed over the water leaving a marked trail.
The idea was given, but it was complicated by how difficult it would be to manufacture balls of this size. Anyway Biro patented in 1938 in Hungary but under British auspices, a prototype, but it was never commercialized.

Due to the Nazi persecution, and helped by his friend Meyne, Laszlo Biro, and his brother, they moved to Argentina in 1940, where they acquired the nationality of this country. His election was due to the fact that in 1938, Agustín Pedro Justo, then President of the Nation, had invited him to settle in Argentina. He met him in the middle of an interview in Yugoslavia making notes for a Hungarian newspaper. Agustín Justo saw him writing with a prototype of the ballpoint and amazed, began to chat with him. Biro told him about the problems getting a visa and Justo, who had not shown up, gave him a card with his name and his occupation: President of the Nation.
On June 10 of the same year they created the Biro-Meyne-Biro company. In a simple garage with 40 employees and a low budget, they perfected the invention and launched it on the market under the name Birome (de Biro and Meyne), they started with a high price they created many models but the "student" variant was the one that won numerous awards in the world and because it was cheaper it was made available to the public. Initially, there was the problem that the ink refilling had to be done by specialists, which was inconvenient and uneconomical. Almost immediately they launched the "sliding tank", which made it possible to extract the empty tank from the toe and replace it with a new one.
In promotion it was called "spherographic", a patented name, emphasizing that it is always loaded, drying on the spot, allowed for carbon copying, perfect for aviation and ink indelible. In 1945 he licensed the writing instrument manufacturer Eversharp, of the United States, which was acquired in turn by Parker Pen, inhaling his plant in Argentina passing Marcel Bich, from France. The latter developed, under the BIC brand, a inexpensive pen which contributed enormously to the popularization of the invention.
