The term micro comes from the Greek language, and is normally used to refer to those elements or phenomena of small size. It can be used simply as an adjective or as a prefix to other words that you want to mark as small or small.
With regard to this meaning, the word micro is always placed before another to establish its condition of smallness. Some of the most common terms used with the prefix micro are for example microphone (a small element used to drive an individual's voice to a greater volume than what is achieved naturally), microscope (a scientific element used to observe phenomena and objects extremely small or microscopic that cannot be analyzed with the naked eye due to their tiny size), microelectronics (the branch of electronics that deals with all those elements of very small size and that serve for special functions that cannot be developed by larger machines) or microbe (a term that designates all the organisms very small living that surround us but that cannot be observed by the human being with the naked eye).
The term micro can also be used in some countries such as Argentina or Chile to indicate a type of transport. Here we are referring to vehicles of a size important that have space for numerous passengers and that can have two floors of seats. The buses are the most common vehicles and used to travel short and medium distances, they are cheaper than other means of transport such as airplane, although trips by bus can be many times more tiring and dangerous than those made by plane. The buses usually have different services that are designed to ensure the passenger a comfortable and pleasant trip, such as reclining seats, food service, bathrooms, music or movies, air conditioning, etc.
