The resource of flattery is very common, we constantly use it, since it is positive to be kind and polite, to please the individuals around us. In any case, flattery incorporates an idea that goes beyond simple kindness, because flattering someone means that we want to please them but with some intention on our part. It is appreciated, therefore, that flattery is a hidden way of looking after our interests. In fact, by acknowledging that our

interlocutor he does something very well done, we are seducing him and it is very likely that with that action we want something in return.

The compliment is not disinterested. If it were, we would be talking about a simple correct or friendly comment.
The words we use to recognize or emphasize the qualities of others are really useful in the exchange of information. We use flattery to conquer someone in the love arena or to make them believe that we are satisfied even if it is not true. Is attitude can be interpreted as hypocritical. And, certainly, if the compliment is totally false or we are lying by mentioning it, we would be being hypocritical.

Flattering can also manifest a weakness that is ours personality. If an individual resorts to flattery very often because he accepts the proposals of others, without a doubt we would be talking about a person without his own criteria and who uses flattery to not defend his ideas and his own opinion.

Using words that flatter does not show that we are doing it right or wrong. It is actually a matter of quantity and sincerity. If the use of flattery is permanent and false, it is clearly not a virtuous behavior. On the other hand, if the compliment is used moderately and without exaggeration, we would be being sociable and communicative people, who know empathize in personal relationships.
