The study of horoscopes is part of astrology, the belief that the position of the planets is related to individuals. The exact moment of birth coincides with a position of the stars and this circumstance marks the personality and the destiny of each individual.
Since ancient times the various cultural traditions have established their own horoscope. The Mayans, the Celts, the Arab culture, the Western world or the tradition China have their own zodiac.
Characteristics of the Chinese horoscope
Western and Chinese astrology do not coincide, since the former is based on 88 constellations and the latter on 28. On the other hand, the Chinese lunar calendar is made up of 12-year cycles and each of the cycles corresponds to an animal, in such a way that each person's horoscope is equivalent to an animal. Thus, people born in 1996 belong to the sign of the rat, those of the year 1985 are ox, those born in 1986 are tiger and those of 1963 are rabbit. If we take the dragon as a reference, people governed by the spirit of this animal are impetuous, creative, feisty, outgoing, avoid loneliness and are somewhat extravagant.
Another aspect that is part of Chinese astrology is the position of the 5 main planets (Venus, Jupiter, Mercury, Mars and Saturn), which are associated with the five elements of the nature (metal, wood, water, fire, earth) and all this is balanced by the two principles of philosophy china: ying and yang.
From the general principles of Chinese astrology, the personality and destiny of each individual is determined by two aspects: the exact date and time of birth and the position of the planets in that precise instant. If someone wants to know his future in the Chinese horoscope, he can contact a specialist and get a birth chart, which is equivalent to the western birth chart.
Chinese horoscope, an example of pseudoscience
When a discipline it does not have the recognition of the scientific community is considered a pseudoscientific knowledge. The Chinese horoscope is part of a tradition cultural Millennial, but it does not have a properly scientific dimension, something that reminds us of other spheres of knowledge (alchemy, kabbalah, telekinesis or the power of amulets).
The Chinese horoscope is based on astrological knowledge that has little to do with the astronomy, the science that properly describes the position of the stars.
Although the Chinese horoscope can be entertaining, there is one aspect that should not be forgotten: they do not exist tests that demonstrate the relationship between the position of the stars with the personality and the destiny of beings humans.
