The concept of homophobia is used in our language to designate the rejection that some people express against homosexual sexual preference and that of course also carries over to homosexuals. The homosexualityMeanwhile, it implies the sexual and loving inclination towards people who belong to the same gender.
It should be noted that this rejection usually manifests itself through physical and verbal aggressions, persecutions and discrimination direct, for example not allowing a homosexual to enter a place or participate in a meeting due to her condition.
Although today we cannot say that homophobia is something of the past far from it, it is a reality that it has lost ground, gaining, in return, social tolerance with respect to those who manifest other positions and interests sexual. Surely the action of organizations designed to precisely promote the acceptance of those who decide to opt for a sexual inclination other than the institutionalized one such as heterosexual. And also the
sanction of laws that endorse and legally recognize unions between homosexuals. For example, countries like Argentina they have sanctioned the law of equal marriage that allows the celebration of marriage between gays and lesbians and of course recognizes the rights and obligations as in the case of a heterosexual marriage.
Now, there is also another side of the coin and it is very nefarious indeed that it is the one in which even today, with so much progress and evolution In every sense, homosexuals continue to be persecuted and killed, especially in countries that are still very backward in terms of individual rights, such is the case of several of the African continent, Asia and the Middle East.
And a paragraph apart deserves the position of the Catholic Church Although of course it does not order to repress homosexuality as we just mentioned that it does occur in various parts of the world, it does not accept it either.
Even more, the Christian religion was decisive when it came to installing homophobia since the moral that the doctrine proposes is diametrically opposed to the union between persons of the same sex. It would be precisely since the installation of Christianity that this action would spread, since before, in antiquity, sexual relations between people of the same were common and accepted.
