If we talk about the horoscope, we must locate ourselves in the knowledge that encompasses it, astrology. Astrology is a pseudoscience that is based on the following principle: there is a relationship between the personal reality of each individual and the position of the stars, in such a way that according to the date of birth of each human being there will be a personality and a certain destination.
According to the worldview of each people or civilization there are different horoscopes. In this way, the Mayans, the Chinese, the Hindus or the ancient Egyptian civilization present their own horoscope.
Celtic culture
The Celts did not leave written testimonies, but they are known through Greek and Roman historians and archaeological sources. We know that they were a warrior people, strong-looking and organized with a hierarchical structure, in which the Druid priests had an important role. Although the Celtic peoples disappeared, their legacy still remains (the Gaelic, the music Celtic roots and the holiday of Halloween are clear proof).
Celtic horoscope characteristics
For the Celts, forests and trees had a sacred value, so the horoscope is based on 21 signs and each of them is represented by a specific tree.
The date of birth of each person corresponds to a tree as a zodiac sign. Thus, the year is divided astrologically with the following scheme: the equinox of fall and of spring correspond to the olive tree and the oak tree respectively and, on the other hand, the summer solstice and winter they correspond to birch and beech respectively. The remaining 17 signs are also trees that refer to periods of the year.
Each tree or sign performs a double function on individuals: it protects them during their life and gives them their personality. Let's see it with two concrete examples: 1) those born between September 3 and 12 are ruled by the Weeping Willow and are people melancholic, pleasant, demanding, dreamy and prone to suffering in love affairs and 2) those born between October 24 and 11 November belong to the sign of the Walnut tree and are noble and aggressive individuals, selfish, contradictory, ambitious and not very inclined to commitment.
The particularity of the Celtic horoscope is that the life and destiny of people is governed by two levels: the phases of the moon and the vital reality of the Celtic peoples, that is, their life in nature in which the trees had a dimension spiritual.
